Disney Mickey Mouse watch is commonly considered by most people to be the first comic character wristwatch. Its history began in 1933, when the first Mickey Mouse watch was manufactured thanks to the Ingersoll and Disney partnership. Ingersoll (then called U.S. Time and now Timex) had the license to manufacture Disney watches from 1933 up until 1968.
 
The very first Disney Mickey Mouse watch was sold at the Chicago World Fair in June 1933. "And an adorating public had to follow him, buying millions of those watches."

Over 30 years, Ingersoll made several models and variations, due to the involvement of the United States in the WWII, Ingersoll ceased for three years the production of Mickey Mouse watches, from 1943 to 1945. In 1946, production started again, this time with a new type of tank (or rectangular) case with no second hand and a more modern Mickey Mouse image – following his evolution on the movies. This new model and a few more case variations were available until the early 1960s.

Today, we have the honor to present a truly post-war timepiece, dated from 1948, this is a vintage Ingersoll – US Time Walt Disney Production Mickey Mouse wristwatch still featuring the original red two-piece leather (bottom) and plastic (top) strap.
 
It is a manual wind watch powered by a standard pin lever escapement movement; U.S.A. made.
 
This watch is a perfect addition to any Disney collection! After 70 years, this watch still has (in good condition) the original white dial depicting the Classic image of Mickey Mouse with animated hands minute and hour hands.
 
After 70 years, it is still in good condition. Runs very well and keeps great time.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
