The Bulova Watch Company is a renowned American watchmaker with a rich history that spans over a century. The company was founded in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old Czech immigrant, in New York City. Initially, Bulova focused on manufacturing and selling jewelry, including pocket watches. By 1911, the company began producing wristwatches, which were still considered relatively new at the time. By the 1920s, Bulova introduced various innovations that set them apart in the watch industry.
 
In the 1970s, the Bulova Watch Company faced financial challenges and went through a series of ownership changes until 2008 when Citizen Watch Co. Ltd. of Japan purchased the Bulova Watch Company and formed the Citizen Watch America subsidiary.
 
Today, Bulova continues to create a wide range of watches known for their precision, craftsmanship, and design. Their collections include both classic and contemporary styles, offering quartz, automatic, and precisionist movements. You can always count on Bulova to make a stately addition to any collection, and this 1965 Bulova American Eagle “D” is no exception!
 
Today, we are presenting a timepiece with a unique decorative bezel and dial design. It is a vintage Bulova American Eagle “D” watch dated from 1965, all in perfect condition!
 
It is a manual wind watch with an original Bulova movement caliber 11AL, 17 jewels, sub-second, Swiss made.
 
It still has the original (in gorgeous condition!) decorative dial in champagne color with textured basket weave pattern design. Gold Arabic Numerals and hour marks, also gold matching hands. The sub-second is located at 6 o’clock. Also, the dial is signed with the Bulova name.
 
This watch is cased in a a stunning 29.7mm round gold electroplate case/bezel and stainless steel-back. Fancy decorated lug design with the same textured basket weave pattern design to match and continued the dial design.
 
It comes with a new-old-stock black Genuine Lizard two-piece leather strap, Italy made.

After 50 years, it is still in LOVELY condition. Runs very well and keeps great time. Just SERVICED!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.

The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
